Whats the best way to choose a builder?
Check they are a member of a reputable membership body, and that they meet that organisations requirements.
Check that the are qualified
Ask for references.
How do I engage a builder for a project?
Make sure you are clear about what is required. Use Architects for complex work, and ensure that specifications are complete.
Get 3 written quotes.
Dont engage a builder until you have a written price, and time frame.
For larger jobs make sure there is a written contract, signed by both parties. Get legal advice if you need it.

How much does it cost for 1 year, for an individual

How long does it take for the sign up to take place. I'm keen to participate in a seminar or one of the learning opportunities that you have.
If you've submitted your application during normal working hours, we'd expect a response in about 24 hours.
If you’re a New Zealand builder who’s passionate about providing superior workmanship and meets the membership criteria, welcome aboard. The first requirement is to hold a recognised trade qualification equivalent to or better than National Trade Certificate in Carpentry Level 4.
You will also need to have a positive reputation, and references supplied.

Yes. We do take online sign-ups. There is however a process that must be followed. Once you've submitted our 'JOIN as a Member' form. Two things will happen.

How do i access membership benefits?
You can access member benefits from the Members -> Member Resources menu of the website. Additional Members benefits that are personal to you can be found when you log in to your "Build Org tool box"
Do i get discounted pricing when my membership application has been submitted?
You will need to wait for your application to be fully processed, confirmed and paid before you have access to any membership benefits.
